Family Prayer Jar

Duration

  • Every day

What you’ll need

  • Large jar

  • 3X3 inch pieces of paper

  • Markers

Experience

Find a jar and fill it with various expressions of prayer. Examples would be:

  • Thank God for your brothers and sisters.

  • Praise God for something he has done for you.

  • Pray and ask God to help your favorite teacher be a good teacher.

  • Ask God to help a friend know Christ.

  • Help our pastors have wisdom and strength.

Write 31 different prayer requests on pieces of paper and put them in the jar. Each day, when you eat together as a family (and followers of Jesus do eat together as families) ask someone to take a prayer request out of the jar and pray for whatever it says. This is also a great way to teach kids about prayer.
